Happy New Year! 新年快乐!

We're well into 2026 and long overdue to update you on all the work we've done during the past few months.  Although "Happy New Year" is a bit late for the calendar year 2026, we'll use the dubious claim of being on time for the Chinese Lunar New Year!

A big reason for the relative silence on our progress is simply because we've been absolutely running full throttle on development. For example, I have spent nearly 50% of 2025 in Hong Kong, working with our team, manufacturers and suppliers to develop our products and get them ready for market. This involves not just engineering and design, but all of the other supporting tasks such as product packaging, certification, quality control, etc.

New Products

As you can see, we have many new products close to release.  We have put a lot of care and attention to detail into our product design--not just the product itself, but also its environmentally responsible (and beautiful!) packaging and supporting user manuals and documentation (where appropriate).

In summary the products ready for launch in the near future are as follows:

1. Accessory Products

  • 9401, 9402, 9405, 9410, 9430 - Fx-9V accessory cables in lengths of 128, 256, 512, 1024, and 3072 mm respectively.  Each cable is terminated in our new 9V compatible connector element molded in light bluish grey with premium Silver plated conductors.
  • 9480 - 9V to Power Functions adapter cable. These cables allow for easy interoperability between Fx-9V and Power Functions compatible products, not only for trains, but also for Technic, robotics, and other applications.
  • 6001 - 4x6 Train Bogie plate bricks (in black). These bogie plate elements were developed in support of our new motor bogie. Since it is a useful element for any train builder, we are selling them in 5x packs separately.

2. Fx Track Products

  • 8936 - We instantly sold out of an early production batch of R136 curves last year. Rest assured more are on their way. Our production pipeline has been saturated with additional production runs of P40 switches and other existing products which were nearly or fully sold out.
  • 8952 - The new R152 curve tracks should be available shortly after the R136.
  • 8968 - This is a special bonus product we did not plan to make, but the R168--specifically the number "168" is an auspicious number in Chinese culture. Therefore, expect some special treatment for this product release ... red track anyone? :)
  • 8101 - The first of several "Starter Packs" and "Track Pack" combo products. The 8101 will include a loop of R56 track, 2x S32 straights, a 9005 Speed Controller, a 9100 Track Power Feeder, and a 9600 Motor Bogie all in one box--priced lower than all of these products acquired individually.  This product is intended to welcome novice, curious and inexperienced people to the LEGO® train hobby with a turn-key solution. They can experience all the benefits of proven reliable model train technology combined with the fun and creativity of LEGO building out-of-the-box.  Other product combos we're exploring are "passing loops", "full loop combos", "double track", and "yard builder" combos.

3. Fx 9V Products

  • 9100 - 9V Track power feeder brick with 768 mm 9V cable. A direct replacement for the LEGO® brand 9V track feeder and fully compatible with both LEGO 9V track and speed regulator.
  • 9700 - Metal train wheel assembly bricks which collect power from the track and are compatible with any 9V compatible accessory cables. Each box has 2x wheel bricks molded in black with identical cosmetic appearance to the traditional LEGO® train wheel assembly. Seamlessly convert your existing 9V or Power Functions train to operate from track power.
  • 9005 - Fx-9V Speed Controller module. The 9005 is the first of many modular power accessory products using our unique 4x16 power brick element.  Each power brick is molded in two-tone light and dark bluish grey with side mounted Technic pin hole connectors and our innovative Magnetic Power Sharing (MPS) connectors. The MPS connectors allow multiple power bricks to be combined into a "control panel" with power sharing among bricks. This allows for automatic power load balancing with multiple input sources/multiple output loads--a system which can inherently scale output power for any demand. It avoids the use of extra cables to daisy chain power to devices as well as not requiring separate power adapters for every device.

(some prototype power accessories we're experimenting with)

The 9005 Speed Controller is powered by any standard USB type C PD (power delivery) source which supports the standard 9.0V / 3.0 A (27 W) power profile. We will sell a qualified USB PD (with universal AC power plugs) as an optional add-on to a 9005, or you can use your own existing USB PD power adapter which supports 9V/3A.

Production on these new products is almost all complete with the exception of final printing of retail packaging for some products. We expect availability of these products within next 2 months and we'll be announcing pricing very soon too. We're not ready to announce pricing at this time since there are many influencing factors (such as tariffs, global logistics, currency rates, etc.) which require our attention first. Unsurprisingly, the world economic situation and the uncertainty of trade tariffs have forced us to make some changes to how our business works.  Although the changes will be substantial behind the scenes, rest assured they will be imperceptible to you and we will continue to make our store a seamless shopping experience no matter where you are.

Motor Bogie

We know everyone is waiting eagerly for our new motor bogie product! It is a key element in our product family and unlocks all of the awesome benefits of using metal Fx Track.

Development of the motor bogie has been much more involved than we imagined. Each component has required many design iterations and extensive testing.  In fact, we have invested a great deal of time and resources into the testing process itself.  Starting with our Hong Kong based test layout shown below.

Our 5x track test loops (R56 to R120) allow for extensive runtime testing of not only motor bogies, but other products such as our wheelsets and power accessories. It also allows us to evaluate operator experience and human factors considerations such as ergonomics and safety. Our layout is connected to two modular equipment racks:  1. Control Console for manual operation of trains and accessories and for verification of compatibility with LEGO® brand power components; 2. Automated Test Equipment (ATE) rack for computer controlled test runs with sensor feedback for parameters such as voltage, current, power, speed, endurance, temperature, etc.

Each loop has multiple matched power feeders balanced around the loop as well as multiple trackside sensors for monitoring vehicle speed and performance. The computer can take control of any loop and configure it for a test procedure. This involves scripted runtime profiles with realtime capture of performance data. This automated testing gives us confidence to validate key performance metrics such as power consumption, thermal management, mechanical durability, endurance and much more.

One of the last engineering issues we're working on now is traction and dynamics. We've invested in a precision strain gauge (also integrated with automated testing) which allows us to precisely measure motor pull force under various calibrated load scenarios and speed regimes. We continuously build small "fleets" of motor bogie test specimens so that we can gain confidence by (hopefully!) seeing unit-to-unit consistency of our data and explore outlier behaviour if observed.

Conclusions

Apologies to all of you for not providing regular news updates on our progress as well as other issues such as inventory availability. There is a lot happening behind the scenes and we're a small team. Our focus has been the products themselves. However, we recognize the importance of timely communication and engagement with our fans and customers. We'll try to improve our communications moving forward!

In spirit of better communication, expect some news from us soon regarding the availability of new products. We're also struggling with how we sell and distribute our products to a global market and are exploring many possible solutions. There will be some changes coming to our product portfolio, pricing and how the product ultimately gets delivered to you.  Rest assured, these changes should be seamless. The aims of these changes are to increase our inventory (avoiding sellout situations), efficient distribution to more markets and resilience against economic turbulence such as trade tariffs and exchange rates.

Lastly, a huge thanks for all of the support we've received from our customers and fans. It means a lot to us and inspires us to keep moving!
